Who we are

Perch is run by Fitnassist Ltd, trading as Perch (company number to be confirmed, registered office to be confirmed). For this website and its email list, we decide how your information is used, so we're its controller under UK GDPR.

What we collect

• When you ask for updates: your email address, your school's name if you give it, the words you agreed to, and when you signed up, confirmed or unsubscribed.
• When you visit: the companies that host the site record the technical details of each request, such as your IP address, browser and the page you asked for, to keep the site working and secure.
• How the site is used: which pages are visited, where visitors came from, what they click, how fast pages load, and whether someone signed up (never their email address). We use PostHog for this, set up so it stores nothing on your device and can't recognise you on a later visit.

The website sets no cookies and has no advertising trackers. We don't record your screen or what you type.

Why, and the law we rely on

• Our email list: your consent. You confirm it from your inbox before we send anything else, and you can withdraw it at any time with the link in every email.
• Hosting records: our legitimate interest in running a website that works and is safe from attack.
• How the site is used: our legitimate interest in knowing whether the website works for the schools it's for. We count visits, not people, and nothing is stored on your device.

What we send you

News about Perch, now and then: new features, the first schools using it, and when you can try it at yours. We never sell your details or pass them to anyone for their own marketing.

How long we keep it

• A sign-up you never confirm: deleted after 30 days.
• A confirmed sign-up: until you unsubscribe. After that we keep only your email address and the date you left, so we never email you again by mistake. Ask, and we'll delete that too.
• Our record of the emails we've sent: 90 days.
• Hosting records: a short time, set by the hosting companies (days or weeks).
• Website usage: kept by PostHog for up to a year, then deleted.

Who helps us

These companies handle your information for us, only on our instructions:

• Vercel Inc. hosts the website, in its London region.
• Railway Corporation runs our server and database, in its Netherlands region.
• Resend sends our emails.
• PostHog Inc. counts how the website is used, in its EU region (Germany).

All four are based in the United States. Your information is stored in the UK or Europe, but where it may be reached from outside the UK, it's protected by the UK's approved safeguards: the UK–US Data Bridge or the UK's International Data Transfer Addendum.

Your rights

You can ask us to show you what we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, or to stop using it, and you can withdraw your consent at any time. Email privacy@learnwithperch.co.uk and we'll reply within a month.

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We'd be grateful for the chance to put it right first.

Children

This website is for schools and the adults who run them. It isn't aimed at children, and we don't knowingly collect children's information through it.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. If it's a big change and you're on our email list, we'll tell you.
